Sunflower
girl
Have you ever realized there is more to the world than you thought? Those petals in your eyes, making up your perspective, have to forcefully blinked away to make room for new growth. This is what created Sunflower Girl. My first time turning my art into something that is digitally consumed, this GIF was lovingly (and frustratingly) created through ten paper drawings based on screenshots I took of myself. Watercolor crayons, POSCA paint pens, and micron ink pens were used to create abstract and colorful versions of my face. This artwork means a lot to me. Made during my first year at Willamette University, it was my first time submitting work to our school's Annual Juried Art Show and getting my work chosen for the exhibit as well.
